This painting was inspired by a view of the colourful Autumn foliage at Winkworth Arboretum in Godalming, Surrey. Although cultivated by man, nature's colours never cease to amaze and delight me. I love Autumn, but it is a bittersweet feeling - a mixture of the love of beautiful colour ‘en masse’ and the fact that it signifies winter is on it’s way!
